The Great Pyramid is a true masterpiece and has rightly earned the title of  “Wonder”. It was built with such precision that our current technology cannot replicate it. There are so many interesting facts about this Pyramid that it baffles archaeologists, scientists, astronomers and tourists.  It is the oldest and largest of the three pyramids in the Giza Necropolis bordering what is now El Giza. historians and archaeologists believe that it was built as a tomb for Fourth Dynasty Egyptian pharaoh Khufu and that it took around twenty years to complete this incredible project.  It consists of an estimated 2.3 million blocks which most scholars believe to have been transported from nearby quarries.

Tutankhamun was nine years old when he became Pharaoh. Even though it was believed that nothing more could be found at the Valley of The Kings in Egypt, on November 1922 Howard Carter made one of the most important discoveries in Ancient Egyptian history.

Carter had discovered at the time an unknown tomb nearly undisturbed for over 3,000 years. Several items gave Carter the inspiration to continue his search, after unearthing a faience cup, a piece of gold foil, and a cache of funerary items which all bore the name of Tutankhamun, Carter knew he was on the right track to make one of the most important discoveries in his career and Egyptian history. King Tutankhamun’s mummy still rests in his tomb in the Valley of the Kings. Tutankhamun’s tomb had been entered at least twice, not long after he was buried and well before Carter’s discovery.

It bears the name of the largest Obelisk ever discovered located in the northern region of the stone quarries of ancient Egypt in Aswan, Egypt. Ordered by Hatshepsut, she ruled jointly with Thutmose III who had ascended to the throne as a child one year earlier.

Archaeologists believe that this great obelisk was abandoned when side-fractures appeared on it. The constructors began carving this obelisk from a single piece of bedrock. Had this incredible obelisk been completed, it would have been one the heaviest if not the heaviest obelisk ever cut in Ancient Egypt, weighing over a thousand tons and measuring around 42 m. The unfinished Obelisk has given archaeologists important insights into ancient Egyptian stone-working techniques. the obelisk was an important symbol to the worship of the sun in ancient Egypt. Most of the Obelisk’s erected in ancient Egypt were due to religious and political reasons.

Located near the border with Sudan, the Abu Simbel temples are two massive rock temples in a small village in Nubia. they are also known as the “Nubian Monuments”. These massive constructions were commissioned by Ramesses II dedicated to the sun gods Amon-Re and Re-Horakhte. The Great Temple has four colossal statues carved out of the living rock making it one of the most elaborate construction in ancient Egypt, displaying incredible features of design and precision. The temples at Abu Simbel were pretty much unknown to the rest of the world until in 1813 Swiss researcher Johann Ludwig Burckhardt rediscovered them.

On two days of the year (about February 22 and October 22), the first rays of the morning sun penetrate the whole length of the temple and illuminate the shrine in its innermost sanctuary. (Source)

The Khufu solar ship

It is one of the most important discoveries due to the fact that it is  one of the oldest, largest, and best-preserved vessels from antiquity measuring 43.6 meters long and 5.9 m wide. Scholars worldwide consider The Khufu ship as “a masterpiece of woodcraft” and several researchers claim that the ship could sail if it were put into water today.

There are several theories as to the purpose of this ship, but studies suggest that this ship was not designed for sailing as it lacks room for rigging or paddling.  Many archaeologists believe that it is a ritual vessel built to carry the resurrected king with the sun god Ra to travel across the heavens. Several researchers claim that the ship does have signs of having been placed into water, although this theory has not been fully accepted by the archaeological community.  The Khufu ship was found in a pit beside the pyramid, rediscovered in 1954 by Kamal el-Mallakh, a famous Egyptian archaeologist.

For the moment I shall subscribe to your point but trust in the future you link the facts better.
