Is the mystery of the elongated Paracas skulls solved at last?

The mystery has lingered since the first elongated skulls were discovered along the southern coast of Peru: What made these human figures have such long heads? Were they actually an alien race of people who visited Earth some 3,000 years ago? As The Express notes:

“The 3,000-year old Paracas skulls, with elongated craniums, have long been held up by UFO hunters as evidence of ancient alien visitations due to their extraordinarily huge foreheads.”

Back in 2015, researcher Brian Foerster said the skulls didn’t fit into any know evolutionary pattern, leading some to speculate that this was finally proof that aliens did indeed live on the planet. At the time, Foerster remarked:

“The mitochondrial DNA (from the mother) presented mutations unknown to any man, primate or any other animal and the mutations suggested we are dealing with a completely new human-like being, very distant from Homo sapiens, Neanderthals or Denisovans.

“I am not sure it will even fit into the known evolutionary tree.”

Not human? Then what?

Forester performed more DNA tests and now says the skulls did indeed belong to human beings:

“He described how the Paracas skulls appeared to share DNA links with other elongated skulls found between the Black Sea and the Caspian Sea.

“Mr. Foerster believes the elongation is not just caused by artificial cranial deformation, but rather by genetics with some of the elongated skulls cranial volume being up to 25 per cent larger and 60 per cent heavier than conventional human skulls.

“He says this means that they could not have been intentionally deformed through head binding or flattening, as cranial deformation can change the shape but does not alter the volume or weight of a skull.”

Speaking at a symposium in Los Angeles, Foerster added:

“What it does show for sure is that the Paracas elongated skull people were not 100 per cent Native American.

“We are likely looking at a sub-species of humanity as regards to the Paracas. It seems to be a lot of DNA evidence from extreme eastern Europe and extreme western Asia.”

So, case closed? Not according to some. The Conspiracy Club continues to suggest the possibility of aliens or an alien/human hybrid. A recent posting on the site read:

“The implications of this discovery are huge. Who were the mysterious Paracas people?

“Did they evolve here on Earth on a path so different from us that they ended up looking drastically different?”

For now, the evidence seems to suggest the Paracans were indeed human.

The popular show “Ancient Aliens” has also examined the Paracan skulls. Here’s an excerpt from a recent episode on the mystery of these unusual remains:
