A man wants to prove the Earth is flat by launching himself into ‘space’ with a home-made rocket

A self-taught rocket scientist who has spent years building a steam-powered rocket in order to prove the Earth is flat, wants to launch himself into ‘space’ in order to prove once and for all, the Earth is not a sphere.

It seems that it doesn’t even really matter anymore what science has to say, some people remain convinced the earth is FLAT.

The man who finally wants to prove the Flat Earth theory is a self-taught rocket scientist and his ultimate goal is to prove all astronauts, Satellite images, and NASA wrong.

‘Mad’ Mike Hughes wants to fly his homemade rocket to around 1,800 feet (550 meters) in his scrap metal contraption, whilst speeding through the air at a staggering speed of 500 miles per hour, above the Mojave Desert.

Mike Hughes, 61, says NASA manipulates information and that the images we have seen from space are all a forgery, part of a greater conspiracy.

His ultimate goal is to reach an altitude of 10 miles, prove the Earth is flat and set the standards for what many are calling the flat earth space programme.

Once he reaches his desired altitude, the ‘mad scientist’ wants to photograph the Earth from above and prove once and for all we are all living on a massive plate, and that the Earth and all other planets in our solar system are FLAT.

For the last couple of years, Mr. Hughes has been building his steam-powered rocket out of salvage parts in his garage.

So far, his ā€˜Flat Earth Space Projectā€™ has cost him around $20,000.

But first things first.

Assuming that the flight across the Mojave Desert does not end badly and has “success” the first phase of his ambitious project would be completed.

His ‘ultimate’ objective is a subsequent launch that would place him miles away from Earth’s surface, from where the 61-year-old limousine driver hopes to photograph the definitive proof that the Earth is flat.

Hughes has made great progress so far by raising money with the help of other “believers” (much of the money was apparently raised by a group called Research Flat Earth).

Among his theories, he explains that NASA is controlled by Freemasons, he talks about the Illuminati and says that Elon Musk makes false rockets from dirigible balloons.

For this reason, he has promised to expose the conspiracy with his steam-powered rocket, whose launch will take place from a modified mobile home.

Mike Hughes has been building rockets for years, albeit with mixed results.

The man built his first manned rocket in 2014 and managed to fly half a kilometer over Winkelman, Arizona.

As we see in the next video, the flight ended with Hughes suffering injuries due to the impact of rocket fragments, and not to mention the rough landing that followed after the parachute failed to slow down the descent of the rocket.

And as some scientists may probably say after watching this video… The Earth isn’t flat, but it sure is hard.

      1. Looking silly? The man with the home built steam rocket to prove the earth is flat?, šŸ˜‰

  1. We all know what’s going to happen… Either there is a malfunction and his rocket…
    a) Doesn’t get high enough because he conveniently forgot to consider the extreme cold at altitude and the trouble producing steam in thin air…
    b) Blows up mid flight because he conveniently failed to consider the heat required to produce enough steam would melt the insulation around the vessel and cause a Challenger-type scenario…
    –OR–
He failed to consider his age, and that Death Rides A Pale Horse and will not be deterred in the gathering of souls…meaning he just might be snuffed out tomorrow by a bus.

    1. If he does get snuffed out by a bus, you know NASA will be behind it, according to the flatties.
