The Great Sphinx of Egypt and Atlantis: Was the Sphinx built by the Ancient Atlantean civilization?
The Great Sphinx of Egypt is without a doubt one of the most mysterious and most incredible monuments on the face of the planet.
This extraordinary ancient structure which measures 20 meters in height and 57 meters in length stands as the proud ‘guardian’ of the Great Pyramid and its companions in the Giza Plateau.
The enigmas surrounding the Sphinx are many, researchers have no idea who built the Sphinx, when, what for nor how long it took to complete, and one of the most mysterious characteristics regarding the Sphinx is its original face and the unusual size of the head compared to the body.
All of these mysteries have led researchers to question nearly everything about the Sphinx. Is the sphinx the product of the ancient Egyptian civilization? Or is it possible that this incredible monument was constructed by an ancient civilization much older than the Egyptian? The Atlantean civilization perhaps?
This majestic monument was carved from a single block of stone, yet there are no written documents that could tell us much about its origin or purpose.
The only “written” evidence that exists from ancient times about the Sphinx is that of Greek historian and geographer Herodotus, who does not mention that the pharaohs of the fourth dynasty (Khufu, Khafre, and Menkaure) were the builders of the Sphinx, nor the Pyramids of Giza.
According to Edgar Cayce, the ‘other’ Nostradamus, the Great Sphinx of Egypt is much older than mainstream researchers suggest. Cayce suggests that this enigmatic monument is at least 15,000 years old, and is closely related to Atlantis, one of the most searched-for ancient civilizations.
Edgar Cayce also called the ‘Sleeping Prophet’, was born on March 18, 1877. He showed an incredible gift for clairvoyance, when, still very young, was able to heal himself from a serious illness himself, through a vision. He did so while in trance, as if asleep, he led his family, step by step through the necessary instructions to cure him. Since then, the home of Cayce was transformed into a center of pilgrimage for many people, who attend meetings in search of solutions for numerous problems.
According to a vision of Cayce, deep inside the enigmatic figure of the Sphinx, a library of great knowledge can be found. Details and texts that contain valuable information about the lost continent of Atlantis, what happened there at the time the Sphinx was built, and chronicles about the destruction of the continent. Even though Cayce ‘theory’ was never proven to be true, numerous findings made by researchers in the past point towards the fact that Cayce was wrong in his vision.
The proof which suggests that the Sphinx is far older than mainstream scholars suggest can be found written on the ‘Inventory Stella’ – Found at Ghiza by Auguste Mariette in the 1850’s, in the ruins of the Temple of Isis which states:
“Long live The King of Upper and Lower Egypt, Khufu, given life
He found the house of Isis, Mistress of the Pyramid, by the side of the hollow of Hwran (The Sphinx)
and he built his pyramid beside the temple of this goddess and he built a pyramid for the King’s daughter Henutsen beside this temple.
The place of Hwran Horemakhet is on the South side of the House of Isis, Mistress of the pyramid
He restored the statue, all covered in painting, of the guardian of the atmosphere, who guides the winds with his gaze.
He replaced the back part of the Nemes head-dress, which was missing with gilded stone
The figure of this god, cut in stone, is solid and will last to eternity, keeping its face looking always to the East”
