How do you think our planet will look like in the future? In the next thousand years, do you think that things will change on Earth? There is a possibility that by then, we will meet other intelligent species in the universe, it is also very likely that we will inhabit other planets and possibly other solar systems, but what will happen to life on Earth?
According to scientists, it is possible that human beings could cease to be the dominating species on planet Earth as other species will emerge. The “Homo Sapiens” is the most developed biological species on Earth, but experts believe it will not always stay this way. Experts believe that there will come a time when we will have to let go of our title and give it to newer species, more developed than we and that species might just be developed by humans. According to different experts, these are some of these “beings” that could rule over Earth in the future.
The animal kingdom. Canadian bioethicist George Dvorsky argues that human beings have a moral imperative to increase the level of intelligence of other beings, of course, that is as soon as our technology and tools permit us to do so. Experts point out that it is necessary to help animals to reason, bringing an end to the “unfair” advantage that man has over them. Is it possible that Animals could revolt against humans?
The Grey Goo. Due to the increasing development of molecular nanotechnology, there is a possibility, according to some, that the human race would perish, victims of miniature robots that could replicate uncontrollably consuming everything on the planet. The term gray goo was coined by nanotechnology pioneer Eric Drexler in his 1986 book Engines of Creation.
Genetic castes. According to scientist Francis Fukuyama, “transhumanism”, ie improved humans through genetic engineering is extremely dangerous. He and other experts argue that “transhumanism” would mean the end of equality and liberal ideas represented by the generation of genetic castes which would allow people with higher material resources to “design” children with “superior” capabilities.
Artificial intelligence. Experts such as Stephen Hawking and Elon Musk, agree on the concerning development in artificial intelligence, which, according to them could replace humans. Primitive forms of artificial intelligence were useful, but the next step towards a more developed artificial Intelligence could mean the end of humanity. “Human beings with their extremely slow biological evolution would not be able to compete with artificial intelligence and would thus be replaced by them,” said Stephen Hawking.
New Form of Humans. Even though most researchers consider this unlikely, there is a possibility that, given the evolutionary process of humans, in the future a new species could emerge on planet Earth. Inhabiting other star systems and planets opens numerous doors and could provide the necessary requirements for a new humanoid species to emerge, one that could adapt on different planetary conditions.
Aliens. What would happen if we were to meet alien beings today? Would they come in peace? You would imagine that a species that is capable of interplanetary travel has very advanced technology. Their weaponry could prove to be too superior for our “primitive” defenses. Some ufoglogists believe that if we were to meet aliens, they would exterminate the human species.
