According to reports, researchers have accidentally found the remains of an advanced ancient complex located in Crimea
This finding serves as the ultimate evidence pointing towards an advanced culture located in the territory of the Taman Peninsula, whose level of development was quite high.
Construction workers have come across an ancient man-made reservoir during the construction process of a Crimean Energy Bridge. According to reports, construction workers stumbled uppon what could prove to be the oldest man-made water reservoir ever found. A team of Russian archaeologists has begun excavations on the site on Thursday.
The construction process of the energy bridge has been suspended while researchers perform excavations on the site.
Nikolai Sudarev, the leading archaeologist in charge of the excavations has spoken about the incredible discovery: “Once they had been able to construct such a system, there might have been more. Obviously, a lot of people had lived here. It was a good big settlement with a rather high level of development.”
Interestingly, at the time the discovery was made, the ancient reservoir was operational and contained water. Water samples from the reservoir were taken to the St. Petersburg Institute of History and Material Culture of the Russian Academy of Sciences for further testing.
Initial estimates say that the water reservoir, which could hide a vast ancient complex dates back to around 700 or 800 BC, making it the oldest in the region.
Nikolai Súdarev notes that this unique discovery will most likely be destroyed, because “the territory where it was found on is located is above the bridge of energy in the construction zone which has to be removed”.
Interestingly, the Crimean region has been the subject of debate among researchers for decades. According to many, there are even underground Pyramids in the region.
Vitalij Gokh who worked for the soviet military for over thirty years claims that buried pyramids and other megalithic structures in the Crimean Peninsula. In an interview with ICTV, researcher Vitaliy Gokh stated that he doesn’t know who built the megalithic structures in the Crimean peninsula, but the pyramids could prove to be the oldest structures on the planet so far.
According to Gokh, 7 pyramids have been registered forming a straight line which traveled from Sarych to Baia Kamyshovaia, and running northwest-southeast. One of these “pyramids” is located underwater in the vicinity of the city of Foros. In total, Gokh believes that there are around 39 pyramidal structures and monolithic buildings in the entire Crimean peninsula.
The region is well-known in ancient history for archaeological and historical treasures from different cultures and ancient civilizations ranging from the Greeks and Romans to the Genoese and Ottoman Turks.
Crimea is an autonomous republic of Ukraine, it is located on the northern coast of the Black Sea.
